Juarez cartel boss Alberto Carrillo Fuentes has been nabbed by Mexican federal police as reported by Hannah Strange for The Telegraph: “Carrillo Fuentes is believed to have taken over the Juarez Cartel after his brother Vicente ‘The Viceroy’ Carrillo Fuentes, who remains a wanted fugitive, relinquished the reins.” The Juarez cartel previously controlled smuggling routes from Ciudad Juarez into El Paso, TX but lost the turf to the Sinaloa cartel. Last week Mexican police arrested Eduardo Sanchez who allegedly is responsible for about 350 murders in leading the turf takeover by the Sinaloa cartel of Ciudad Juarez as reported by The Associated Press.
