Drug Cartel Whacks Outspoken Mayor

Ygnacio Lopez Mendoza was an outspoken critic of the drug cartels, and now the small town mayor from Mexico’s western state of Michoacan has been murdered as reported by the Los Angeles Times:  “the nation is wondering whether Michoacan, a key agricultural state just a few hours west of Mexico City, has been all but overrun by drug cartels.”
